A royal wine from France: Champagne. Who hasn't heard of it? It's undoubtedly the world's most iconic sparkling wine. A sparkling wine served at the courts of various European royal families. A drink for emperors. A wine that became available to a wide audience during the Belle Époque. We're talking about Champagne. The opulent pleasure from northern France.

The Champagne from France

Champagne is called Champagne because it comes from the region of the same name, just east of Paris. Champagne was discovered by chance by the monk Dom Pérignon, now part of the powerful Moët & Chandon family. From the mid-18th century onward, a growing number of champagne houses emerged, which continue to produce exquisite Champagne wines to this day.

The story of Champagne Vranken is a little different. Champagne Vranken was founded in 1976 by the Belgian Paul Francois Vranken. He wanted to create his own successful champagne brand, and he succeeded with great success. However, the champagne house wanted more and in 2002 merged with Pommery, a major player located in Reims, the capital of Champagne. The Champagne Vranken Pommery Monopole group now encompasses various champagne brands, including Demoiselle, Vranken, Pommery, Heidsieck & CO, and Charles Lafitte.

The vineyards in the Champagne of Vranken

The entire conglomerate encompasses a whopping 250 hectares of vineyards in Champagne. An incredible amount. The "big three" are primarily planted: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Almost all Champagnes are made from one, two, or all three of these grape varieties. Vranken's Champagnes are characterized by a high proportion of Chardonnay and a low proportion of Pinot Meunier. This results in robust and creamy Champagnes that are highly distinctive.

What is the most beautiful champagne from Champagne Vranken?

Champagne Vranken Diamant is a true eye-catcher. The unique bottle alone makes you long for this Champagne. Both the Brut Rosé Champagne and the Blanc de Blancs are made with grapes from the finest Grand Cru vineyards in Champagne. The Champagne Vranken Diamant Brut Rosé contains a small percentage, around 15%, of Pinot Noir. This gives this highly exclusive Vranken Champagne a richer and more lush flavor.
