Vintage Report
This is the ultimate top wine from Torre del Falasco, the magnificent Amarone della Valpolicella! It's a truly special wine, made by Cantina Valpantena. This winery is no stranger to the area, having been crafting exquisite wines since 1958. It's a cooperative of 270 winegrowers with approximately 750 hectares of vineyards in Veneto at their disposal. Together, they offer advice and share their expertise. Torre del Falasco's name stems from a history dating back to the year 1600. Back then, a bandit named Falasco rampaged through the valley and settled in the town of Stallavena. This history stretches far back in time, reflected in the rich, ancient soil structure in which the grape vines grow. By combining modern techniques with time-honored traditions, Torre del Falasco has achieved great success with its wines.
Drying of the harvest for the Amarone Della Valpolicella
This top-quality wine is made from Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes, grown on the very oldest vines. The old vineyard doesn't yield much, but it's of exceptionally good quality. When ripe, all the bunches are harvested by hand and laid out in beds. Yes, you read that right: the bunches are laid out in beds to rest in special drying houses. The bunches lose some of their moisture. The juice that remains? That's truly unique. After several months, the grapes are pressed, and the aged black juice is also aged in wood. Unique in a capital "unique"!The smell and taste of the Torre del Falasco Amarone
In the glass, this superb wine shimmers dark red with a purple rim. The beautiful color captivates our senses, and we smell the glass. We noted impressions of cherries, blueberries, figs, dark chocolate, and a touch of amarena cherries. The aroma is overwhelming and gives us a very warm feeling. On the palate, we get a velvety start of black fruit accompanied by spices and notes of cocoa. Later, as the wine swirls in your mouth, we also taste plums, mocha, and a touch of blueberries. What a superb wine this is, with a touch of vanilla and cedar wood on the finish.Product details
