Vintage Report
The 2023 vintage for dry wines from Portugal is considered excellent with a score of 91 points. The wines are currently still youthful and need time to reach their full potential.
Portugal is best known for its fortified wines: Port. However, Portuguese wines are an undiscovered gem in the European wine landscape. They have always played a minor role in European wine. This changed when Portugal joined the European Union and claimed the associated agricultural subsidies. Portugal had to work hard, and there was only one way to do that: create pure quality. This has resulted in Portugal today being known for its exceptionally high-quality wines at a reasonable price.
