The Salento region primarily features clay soils. This plays a key role in the development of grapes, including Chardonnay. This soil contributes to the ripeness and purity of flavor that characterize Tenuta San Marco Chardonnay. With a density of 4,500 vines per hectare, the winery strives to maximize not only the quality but also the intensity of the aromas and flavors in each grape. During the first two weeks of August, the grapes are harvested at peak ripeness. Only the finest grapes are considered good enough and are therefore rigorously selected. The gentle pressing and fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks at 15 degrees Celsius ensure that the natural characteristics of the Chardonnay grape are fully expressed. This careful vinification process results in a wine that not only embodies the spirit of Salento but also sets a new standard for white wines from the region.
Upon pouring, the Tenuta San Marco Chardonnay enchants with its radiant straw-yellow color, like a glimpse of sunlight dancing through the leaves of a vineyard.
