Weingut Villa Wolf is a winery in the Palatinate region, founded in 1756. It was a highly prestigious winery in the 18th century and reached its peak of success in the 19th century. Success declined sharply in the 1990s, but was subsequently taken over by Ernst Loosen in 1996. Thanks to his philosophy and, above all, hard work, he has since restored its success.
Careful vinification for Villa Wolf Riesling Dry
The vineyards of Villa Wolf Gewürztraminer are cultivated sustainably, in accordance with German environmental regulations. The grapes are harvested by hand in the fields to select the best bunches. The Riesling grapes come from the estate's own vineyards and reach peak ripeness in late September. In the cellars, they are immediately destemmed and gently pressed with the utmost care. The juice is then transferred to large stainless steel tanks for a temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation of over two weeks. This is immediately followed by aging on the fine lees without malolactic fermentation. This preserves the wine's optimal freshness. Villa Wolf's Dry Riesling is a truly high-quality wine, radiating a light straw-yellow color in the glass. As soon as you pour it, you can savor the delicious aromas of white peach and a hint of passion fruit. The flavors reveal notes of lemon, green apple, and yellow stone fruit. This flavor flows into the finish, accompanied by crisp acidity. Perfectly balanced, it's highly recommended with fish dishes or an Indian curry. This wine is delicious to drink young, but can also be aged for at least two to three years. Our advice is that the younger the better, and it's difficult to limit yourself to just one glass.Product details
