The beginning of the Von Winning winery

The unique Von Winning winery has changed its name several times in recent years. It was founded under the name Deinhard by Friedrich Deinhard and his wife. Their son, Dr. Andreas Deinhard, continued the winery under the Deinhard name, and he, in turn, was succeeded by his daughter. A true family business indeed. The Von Winning winery was founded in 1849 and is named after Captain Leopold Von Winning. Since then, unique wines have been produced in these cellars. The grapes for this Riesling come from a special vineyard located in the heart of the Palatinate. This wine region is sometimes called the Burgundy of Germany, as the conditions here are at least as excellent. With the Vosges Mountains to the west and the Haardt Mountains to the east, the vineyards are protected from natural influences. Von Winning itself is located in Deidesheim, but also has vineyards in other prominent villages such as Forst and Neustadt, situated along the prestigious Weinstrasse. For Von Winning Paradiesgarten Riesling Trocken, the Riesling grapes come from the vineyards of the same name. It's located west of the village of Deidesheim. Unique to the Paradiesgarten vineyard is its 100% sandstone soil, which gives the Riesling a completely different character than that of the other vineyards.

The refined acidity of grapefruit and crisp apple makes this Von Winning Riesling exceptionally elegant. This allows Von Winning to reveal a distinctly different side of the versatile Riesling grape.
