The capital of Burgundian wines
Maison Régnard is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in all of French Burgundy. Founded in the second half of the nineteenth century, in 1860 to be precise, the estate was born thanks to Zéphir Régnard. The estate is currently considered one of the most important Burgundian wineries, with several plots of vines in the Mâconnais region, or the southernmost part of Burgundy. No other estate in Chablis boasts such a large collection of Grands Crus and Premiers Crus. Régnard's cellars hold all seven Grands Crus and five top Premiers Crus of Chablis. Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over the estate in 1984 and has continued and refined the style of the wines ever since. The Baron has chosen to extend his prestigious house to the capital of Burgundy wines, by settling in the heart of the old town of Beaune in a majestic mansion with 18th-century cellars.
12 months of sur lie maturation for Chablis Grand Regnard
The grapes for this temptingly delicious Régnard Chablis Grand Régnard come from vineyards around 30 years old, planted in clay and limestone soils from the late Jurassic period. Harvesting is carried out by hand, and the grapes are gently pressed upon arrival in the cellar. They then ferment and undergo malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks to slightly reduce acidity and give the wine a touch of lactic acid. Finally, the wine is aged on the lees for twelve months. This gives the wine abundant fruit and suppleness, along with refined acidity.
The aroma is intense and refined; tropical fruit, apple, white peach, nuts, and an elegant citrus note. The palate offers excellent freshness and a beautiful balance with abundant fruit, generous and minerally, citrusy notes. Chablis Grand Régnard; an extremely captivating Chablis with complex fruity notes and a perfect flavor structure.
