At the start of 2022, temperatures were higher than usual. Until mid-January, there were no sudden drops in temperature, resulting in severe frost and sunny afternoons. This situation persisted until the end of February. Precipitation between January and February was exceptionally scarce, with less than 20 liters. March brought instability, with cool temperatures and some rain showers that somewhat alleviated the drought in the vineyards. Spring began with a drop in temperatures, which delayed bud formation and protected the vineyards from the spring frost. A heat wave with temperatures reaching 30°C (86°F) occurred in mid-May, making this month one of the driest of the past decade. June and July were characterized by intense heat waves without precipitation, making them the hottest months since records began. Harvesting began in early September, during a period of extreme weather conditions.

The Aalto Blanco de Parcela Fuente de las Hontanillas is made primarily from Verdejo grapes from this region, supplemented with smaller percentages of Godello and Albillo.
