Ademan Valdearanda Tinto Crianza (Toro)
A Toro with class and power: Ademan Valdearanda Tinto Crianza combines ripe fruit, the finesse of French oak, and the concentration of old vines into a wine that immediately impresses. Behind this cuvée lies an approach that revolves around constant care in the vineyard, respect for nature's rhythms, and rigorous grape selection. The result is an intense yet silky style with length and balance.
Vineyards and region
The grapes come from vines between 50 and 60 years old, grown as goblet grapes. What does "goblet" mean in the vineyard? These are freestanding vines without wire, low to the ground, and often low-yielding, which can create extra concentration and depth of flavor. The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates and then hand-selected again in the cellar. This is Tinta de Toro from DO Toro, made with patience and precision.
Vinification and maturation
After arrival, a 48-hour cold maceration gently extracts color and aromas. Alcoholic fermentation proceeds slowly and controlled for 18 days at a temperature below 22 degrees Celsius. The wine then matures for approximately 12 months in French oak barrels. This maturation imparts spice and structure, while maintaining the freshness and purity of the fruit. The alcohol content is 15 percent and is supported by the full body and well-rounded tannins.
Grape composition
Tinta de Toro 100%. This is the local Tempranillo variety, known for its compact clusters, firm skins, and powerful flavors of ripe red fruit and natural structure. In Toro, this grape produces wines that already deliver great pleasure while also possessing the backbone for further development.
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
Ruby red with purple hues. The aroma reveals ripe red fruit and berries, complemented by toasted notes and spices from the barrel. The palate is full and silky, with a refreshing touch that provides balance, rounded tannins, and a long, persistent finish. Serve at 14 to 16 degrees Celsius with roast lamb, stews, and barbecue. Also try with aged cheeses or dark chocolate desserts. This wine is ready to drink now and can be aged for approximately six years under optimal conditions.
