A beautifully fresh Cava from Agusti Torello, this Brut Gran Reserva Barrica. The name refers to its oak barrel aging, which also gives this Cava lightly toasted notes in both aroma and flavor. A fantastic Cava as an aperitif or for any occasion that needs to be transformed into a celebration.
The quality cavas from Agusti Torello
The cava house was founded in 1950 by Agusti Torello Mata. The estate is located in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia. The house is known for its high-quality cavas made exclusively from local grape varieties. They work extra hard in the vineyards to harvest healthy, ripe grapes, which is no easy task. It is a true family business, today run by the founder's four children. They maintain the tradition and continue to improve day after day, ensuring its continued success.
Macabeo grapes are grown at an altitude of 150 meters in the valley of the Penedes wine region. At peak ripeness, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand and taken directly to the winery. Here, the grapes are sorted, and fermentation takes place in oak barrels for six months. Finally, the cava matures in the bottle on its own lees at a constant temperature. Only when the order is placed is the aging process terminated, the lees removed, and the cork inserted.
The typical character of Agusti Torello Mata Brut Gran Reserva Barrica
It's a typical cava that clearly showcases the character of the Macabeo grape. Aromas of apple, toast, vanilla, and a hint of butter. Thanks to its oak aging, notes of spice are also present. Fresh notes on the palate, with a touch of nuts and a hint of vanilla.
