If you're looking for the finest, high-quality cava, you've come to the right place at the Agusti Torello cava house. They craft unique cavas using only traditional grape varieties. This large-format Brut Nature Gran Reserva is no exception. Roasted aromas are interspersed with a rounded, slightly fruity flavor.
The success of Agusti Torello
The cava house was founded in 1950 by Agusti Torello Mata. The estate is located in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia. The house is known for its quality cavas made exclusively from local grape varieties. The house owns several vineyards around the town of Sant Sadurni d'Anoia in Penedes, considered the capital of cava. They work extra hard in the vineyards to harvest healthy and ripe grapes, which is no easy task. It is a true family business, today led by the founder's four children. They maintain the tradition and continue to improve day after day, which only furthers their success. Moreover, Torello is one of the few houses that dares to make cavas from a single vintage. Typical of Torello's cavas is their beautifully dry, honest style.
The vinification process of Agusti Torello Mata Brut Nature Gran Reserva MAGNUM
The blend, consisting of 42 percent Macabeu, 22 percent Carello, and 36 percent Parellada, comes from old vineyards in the Penedes wine region. After harvest, the winery undergoes rigorous sorting. Only the very best are accepted. Fermentation then takes place at a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius for 30 days. The wine is aged in the bottle on its own lees for 56 months in the Augusti Torello cellar.
Thanks to its long aging, the nose reveals toasted aromas of pastry and white fruit. A very round Cava with a long finish and fine bubbles. The Gran Reserva pairs well with meat and fish main courses, or with a cheese board featuring aged cheeses.
