A Spanish alcohol-free Cava with a Dutch twist. A few years ago, two entrepreneurial friends from the Netherlands and Belgium launched a winery in Barcelona. They wanted to create the finest organic wines with a modern twist. Well, they succeeded, and their latest addition is the alcohol-free wines from the Al Mercado series. A wonderful development, and let's be honest, this is just like Cava, but without the alcohol. Yes, that's right, what a joy to drink.
The old vineyard of Al Mercado Brut
To create a superb non-alcoholic Cava, everything begins in the vineyard. For this Al Mercado Brut, it's a whopping 40 years old. This is where the Xarello, Macabeo, and Parellada grapes grow. These grapes are also used for alcoholic Cava, so we get the same flavor experience. After being harvested by hand, the Al Mercado Brut matures in the cellars for several months. Here, it develops its distinctive flavor and gives us a unique experience.
Full and very powerful this Al Mercado Brut 0%
Once the alcohol has been extracted, the bottle is ready to be opened. The bottle alone is a feast for the eyes, but it doesn't stop there. In the glass, it reveals a beautiful golden yellow with a faint green shimmer. It smells of fresh white fruit, complemented by fresh almonds and notes of pastry. The taste of this alcohol-free cava is unique, full-bodied on the palate with soft bubbles. Beautifully refined with nuances of citrus, apple, and lime. What a fantastic alcohol-free sparkling wine this is!
