Popular in Spain for years, we're now also happy to sell Aldea's alcohol-free wines. This white variety is made from Spain's pride, the Verdejo grape. Aldea's vineyards are located between the municipalities of Cuenca and Toledo, in the heart of Don Quixote. Here, the climate is perfect for Verdejo; abundant sunshine and a cooling breeze ensure the harvest ripens slowly and evenly. To produce a good, full-bodied alcohol-free wine, it's important to give the harvest everything it needs. That's why winemaker Manuel Gil is always in the vineyards, closely monitoring the harvest.

The harvest of the Verdejo grapes

Once the bunches are ripe, they are harvested early in the morning. This protects the harvest from oxidation and bruising during transport. The fresh bunches arrive at Aldea, where they are thoroughly inspected. Only the best and ripest are pressed and processed into white wine. This Aldea Verdejo then undergoes a special technique that extracts the alcohol. The wine retains its aroma and flavor, but loses only the alcohol. And that's what you taste in this Aldea Verdejo.

The scent and taste of the Aldea Verdejo

This white wine still retains all the beautiful qualities of the Verdejo grape. We noticed this immediately upon opening this bottle of alcohol-free white wine. It burst forth, offering impressions of citrus fruit, along with notes of freshly mown grass and white flowers. In the glass, it reveals a beautiful golden yellow with a green shimmer. Aromas of citrus fruits like lime and grapefruit, interspersed with green herbs like mint. On the palate, this Aldea Verdejo zr is refreshing with some citrus notes. Swirl the wine around your mouth, and it reveals some exotic fruit with a hint of green apple.
