Description
Powerful, full-bodied, and robust—that's what defines this Alma Andina Malbec. The beautiful clusters of Malbec grapes are grown in Mendoza, where the climate and vineyard location are perfect, resulting in ripe, full-bodied grapes. This is evident in the aroma and flavor of this Alma Andina Malbec.
The ideal conditions for Malbec
The grapes come from Mendoza, where the vineyards in this region are situated at high altitude. This results in a highly refined grape. Previously, the focus in this region was primarily on affordable wines, but since the 1990s, the focus has shifted to quality wines. The high altitude combined with cool nights allows the grapes to ripen for a long time. This gives the grapes ample time to develop their wonderful qualities. This results in powerful and distinctive wines from this Argentinian region. Alma Andina Malbec is a red wine from the premium range of Argentina's leading wine company, Peñaflor. They own over 6,000 hectares of vineyards and are the country's largest producer in the key regions of Mendoza, San Juan, and Salta y Catamarca. This premium series focuses on the Andean terroir. The name Alma Andina literally means "The Soul of the Andes." The wines capitalize on the Andes' varying altitudes and terroirs, resulting in a range of surprising wines at an affordable price. This Malbec is a perfect example. The aromas of Alma Andina Malbec
The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by a rigorous selection process. On the sorting table, the ripe grapes are separated from the unripe or overripe ones. The best grapes are then destemmed and cold macerated for several hours. Fermentation then begins at a controlled temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, lasting 15 days. After the necessary rest, the wine is bottled and ready to be enjoyed. This Malbec has a robust attack of black fruit, with blackberry notes taking center stage. The aroma also reveals a touch of spice, chocolate, and hints of laurel and licorice. The palate is full-bodied with soft, ripe tannins, abundant black fruit, and hints of vanilla, licorice, and tobacco. For this price point, this is a truly outstanding Argentinian wine.Product details
