Largest Italian wine producer Alois Lageder
Without a doubt, Alois Lageder is one of Italy's greatest wine producers. His grandfather laid the foundation for this winery in Trentino in 1855, and Alois Lageder continued to build on it. Born and raised in the Adige Valley, he knew exactly how to cultivate the region's finest grapes. The vineyards in Magrè and Salorno lie at altitudes of 230 to 500 meters. The soil consists of sand and limestone, and the vines planted here are between 10 and 40 years old. The grapes here enjoy a cool microclimate with significant daytime and nighttime temperature variations. This is crucial for preserving sufficient freshness and acidity in the grapes.
The vines for the Alois Lageder Chardonnay are sourced from their own vineyards with exceptionally calcareous soil. After the grape harvest, between mid-September and early October, the vines are gently pressed and then fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for four months in stainless steel tanks. Alois Lageder uses only natural yeasts.
