Range of fruity wines from Altos del Condor
Altos del Condor is a series of wines produced by Peñaflor. These are accessible wines inspired by the beauty of the Andes. Each wine in this series has a fruity and juicy style. The winery owns over 6,000 hectares of vineyards. Grupo Peñaflor is an Argentinian company founded in 1904 by a family of Italian immigrants with the goal of producing table wines and other non-alcoholic beverages. In the late 1990s, Grupo Peñaflor changed its focus and decided to specialize in fine wines. The grapes are planted in ancient, sandy, and highly permeable soils of volcanic origin. This, combined with the fresh breeze that blows through the vineyards at sunset, makes this region unique and perfectly suited to wine growing.
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec grapes come from various vineyards in the Cuyo region of Argentina. At peak ripeness, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand. Upon arrival at the cellar, the grapes are destemmed and then cold-soaked on the skins. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 23 to 26 degrees Celsius for 15 days. This is chosen to maximize the fruit flavors.
What does the Altos del Condor Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec taste like?
The Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec is a deep red in the glass, and we immediately enjoy the aromas of plums, berries, and blackberries. These fruity notes are also evident in the taste. It's a soft, full-bodied wine with abundant fruit and soft tannins. This red wine from the Altos del Condor wine series pairs beautifully with pasta dishes.
