Nestled in the heart of the Loire Valley, we find the beautiful Ambroisie winery. This winery is fully dedicated to producing rosé wines from the Anjou region. While Anjou used to be known for its easy-to-drink, light rosés, things have changed considerably. The region has undergone a clear change of pace, giving the winemakers greater depth and richness in both aroma and flavor. Ambroisie also crafts its wines according to the new standards, and we can assure you, that's no small achievement. Of course, the Anjou rosés retain their softness and sweetness, but they have gained more power.

The harvest of the Cabernet d'Anjou

For this Cabernet d'Anjou rosé from Ambroisie, only Cabernet Franc grapes are grown on old vines. Ambroisie's plots extend from part of Muscadet to the Touraine region. This allows the Ambroisie winemaker to receive diverse bunches and experience a different climate, allowing him to vinify a powerful and fine Cabernet d'Anjou. The grapes enjoy plenty of sunlight and a touch of the fresh breeze that blows through the vineyards. This creates a perfect climate in the vineyards, allowing for a late harvest.

The sweet taste of the Ambroisie Cabernet d'Anjou

Upon opening the bottle, we immediately smell a sweet aroma of red fruit with hints of grenadine. In the glass, it transforms into a beautiful light pink with a hint of orange. The heady aroma is truly exquisite, with aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and lychee. The palate is full and very pure, and the palate is teased by the slightly sweet character of this Ambroisie Cabernet d'Anjou. Beautiful flavors of strawberry, raspberry, and a touch of peach make it very enjoyable. Later, as this rosé settles on the palate, it also reveals nuances of cherry and blackcurrant jam. What a delightful glass of Cabernet d'Anjou from the Loire Valley.
