What a magnificent wine from the heart of Vinho Verde! Anselmo Mendes Pardusco is a remarkable wine that, like no other, is synonymous with perfection in the Portuguese wine world. Vinho Verde is actually known for its white wines, but don't underestimate this red variety either. It completes the Anselmo Mendes range and is of unparalleled quality. The different grape varieties complement each other sublimely, resulting in a soft and mature wine.
The passionate winemaker Anselmo Mendes
Mr. Anselmo Mendes is a passionate winemaker in the Vinho Verde region of Portugal. This region comprises three major valleys: Vale do Minho, Vale do Douro, and Vale do Baião. Each region has its own grape variety. His passion is the Alvarinho grape, considered the most elegant Portuguese white grape! Anselmo Mendes's primary concern is, first and foremost, in the vineyard, where quality is determined. The result is exceptional wines with a unique character and unparalleled aging potential. There is no doubt that Mendes is responsible for some of the finest and most famous wines from the Vinho Verde region. One of his wines was once ranked among the world's top 100.Five different grape varieties for Pardusco
For this delicious red wine, he uses no fewer than five different local grape varieties, including Alveralhão, Pedral, and Caínho. The grapes come from Monção in the north and the Lima Valley, on the western side of Vinho Verde. The wine is made by first cold macerating on the skins to enhance its color. After slow fermentation at a low temperature, it is aged in used barrels, which once held Alvarinho, combined with micro-oxygenation to soften the tannins. Pardusco from Anselmo Mendes has beautiful aromas of red berries, cherries, and ripe, sweet blackberries. The taste is soft and ripe, very, very refined! This Pardusco Anselmo Mendes from Portugal is truly a beautiful red wine!Product details
