Sweden, the northern land of Vikings, vast forests, and the midnight sun, isn't exactly the first country you think of when it comes to wine production. However, tucked away in the Skåne wine region lies a gem of a winery that continues to amaze the world: Askesang White. The story of Askesang begins with a passionate wine lover, Lars Johansson, who decided to defy traditional wine country and create something special in his own backyard. While traveling through the French wine regions, he fell in love with winemaking and dreamed of producing a unique wine that would capture the essence of Sweden. Back in Skåne, with its rich soil and unique climate, his adventure began. Askesang White is a unique blend, a fusion of Solaris and Souvignier Gris grapes. These grapes, though relatively unknown in traditional wine circles, are perfectly adapted to the Swedish climate and give Askesang its distinctive flavor.
