Who isn't familiar with the wines of Domaines Barons de Rotschild? These top Bordeaux wines sell out every vintage. Unfortunately, these wines are only accessible to a few wine drinkers. That's why, in 1999, this prestigious winery acquired the Château d'Aussieres estate, located west of Narbonne. This estate boasts centuries of winemaking history. Unfortunately, the vineyards had fallen into disrepair, requiring complete uprooting and replanting. Domaines Barons de Rotschild knows better than anyone how to manage the planting and care for the plants and vines. This expertise is certainly evident in all the Château d'Aussieres wines.
A modern wine with a classic touch
The first wines from this Château, under the management of Domaines Barons de Rotschild, were two beautiful Corbiere wines. Two new Pays d'Oc wines have since been added to the range, including this Aussieres Selection Rouge. The origins of Domaines Barons de Rotschild are also held in high regard for this wine. The quality of this wine must be outstanding, and it certainly is! This red wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah—three classic grape varieties that create a truly exceptional wine. The harvest is carried out with great care and attention. Only the finest fruit is selected for pressing. After vinification, this beautiful Aussieres Rouge matures for several months in the cellars of Château d'Aussieres for a perfect finish.
Why buy Aussieres Selection rouge?
The winemaker has certainly achieved that perfect finish! What a beautiful, classic wine, and for this price range! Just looking at the bottle, its rich appearance gives us a warm, classic feeling. Upon uncorking the bottle, characteristic aromas are released, which are amplified as we pour the wine into the glass. The beautiful deep red color with the purple rim also gives us the impression that this must be a real gem. On the nose, we noted aromas of fruit such as blackberries, cherries, blueberries, and plums. The taste of this Aussieres Rouge is incredibly smooth and refined, with beautiful flavors of fruit, plums, chocolate, and a hint of pepper. The finish is what we've come to expect from Lafite Rothschild: powerful and refined.
