The name of this red wine comes from the Ebro River. Baron de Ebro's finest vineyards are located along the river. This is why, early in wine history, he was called the Baron of the Ebro. The winery is now owned by a very well-known and large Spanish winery. We're unfortunately not allowed to reveal who they are, but winemaking is in their blood, as their trophy cabinet is absolutely packed. Because the winery has greater ambitions and because the Baron de Ebro vineyards were so unique, they acquired them about twenty years ago.

24 months on oak wood

This red Rioja Reserva is made from two grape varieties: Tempranillo and Graciano. Both come from Baron de Ebro's oldest and finest vineyards. The vineyards are unique, receiving ample sunshine and cooling from the wind that blows across the Ebro River. The perfect blend of warmth and coolness allows the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. They draw abundant nutrients from the rich soil structure, rich in limestone and gravel. Once the grapes are ripe, the Baron de Ebro winemaker harvests them by hand. Each grape is checked and thoroughly inspected. Only the best is good enough for this red wine. After pressing, the deep, dark juice is aged in oak barrels for a full 24 months. During this period, it continues to mature and develops a truly unique flavor and aroma.

The best red wine from Baron de Ebro

After the long oak aging, this wine is also bottle-aged for 12 months in the Baron de Ebro cellars. Only when the wine is in top condition are the bottles sold. Then we can tell you what this wine tastes like. Well, it's fantastic for those who love full-bodied and powerful red wines. The first thing you notice is a deep purple color with a red sheen. It has a rich aroma, reminiscent of black fruit, leather and tobacco, cedar and vanilla, as well as chocolate and toast. The aroma reveals a lot about the taste, which is just as intense and full. A beautiful attack of black fruit on the palate, accompanied by ripe tannins. Beautiful flavors of toast, vanilla, and cedar combined with spices and plums. The finish is what we expect from a Rioja: very powerful and full-bodied with just the right amount of spices and cedar.
