The Barramundi Shiraz from the eponymous winery is an excellent red wine from the southeast, whose delicate flavor is due to the use of Shiraz grapes. These grapes come from the Murray Darling region of Victoria, where two of Australia's largest rivers meet.

The true meaning of Australian wines

In 1976, Cinzano built a winery in the Griffith region of Australia to produce a range of vermouths. This grape variety was very popular at the time, and thus, interest in Australian table wines grew worldwide. Cinzano then began exporting table wines. In late 1980, he launched the Barramundi brand. More than ten years later, the brand was launched in the British market. This brand was radically different in concept, packaging, and drinking experience compared to other wine brands. The wines became increasingly well-known, and in the 1990s, the wine labels were redesigned by Australian artist Ken Done. Production was moved from Griffith to Mildura. A wine brand that truly understands Australia and stands for fun, friendship, and adventure. The grapes are harvested at night to preserve all the aromas. Afterward, a cold maceration process begins to extract color and flavor. Then, a controlled fermentation takes place over ten days, starting at 24°C and ending at 20°C. The juice is regularly pumped over the skins, which further enhances the color and flavor of the wine. This delicious red Shiraz is then aged for six months in new American oak, resulting in a truly magnificent Australian powerhouse!

Enjoy this accessible and fruity Shiraz

Barramundi Shiraz is a beautiful purple-red color. On the nose, we detected intense aromas of plums, pepper, and spices. This Australian red wine is wonderfully accessible and fruity, which is precisely what Barramundi wines are known for. Velvety tannins on the palate. Rich, ripe notes of dark grapes, fruitcake, and vanilla. An ideal wine to pair with eggplant, BBQ, and steak.
