What a powerful wine, this Barolo Boscareto from the renowned Batasiolo winery. This Italian wine comes from the Piedmont wine region. Specifically, this wine comes from the Barolo wine region, hence the name. It is a distinctive, powerful, and full-bodied wine.

The ideal conditions for the Nebbiolo grape

Nebbiolo is one of the slowest-ripening grapes, but also one of the grapes that retains its quality the longest. Its name derives from "nebbia" and refers to the white coating on the berries that forms when the grapes are fully ripe. Moreover, misty clouds often drift across the hillsides of the vineyards during late harvest. This explains the large fluctuations in the vintage, depending on the fall season. The grapes come from the highest and best locations in the Boscareto vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba, at an altitude of 300-400 meters above sea level. The soil is rich in clay and calcareous marl with sandy deposits. These are ideal conditions for the grapes for this Barolo Boscareto.

Three years of wood aging for Batasiolo Barolo Boscareto

The harvest takes place in the second half of October. Traditional mash fermentation lasts about 10-15 days. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is placed in oak barrels where it remains for at least two years. It is then aged in the bottle for about a year. This Batasiolo Barolo Boscareto earned a whopping 92 points from Wine Spectator. And that's not bad! Upon opening and pouring, all the senses are immediately stimulated. The beautiful ruby-red color, combined with the wonderful aromas that emerge, already suggest a lot. The nose is robust, rich, and very finesse; nuances of dried fruit, black cherry, plums, spices, chocolate, licorice, and tobacco. This Batasiolo Barolo Boscareto is a truly top-notch wine. Aged for two years in oak, it offers a beautiful combination of power and finesse. The palate has a velvety attack, followed by a robust, refined flavor and an excellent finish. Top class!
