A real crowd-pleaser, this red Barbera D'Alba Ape Reale wine from the Bel Colle winery. It's made exclusively from Barbera grapes grown in Piedmont, where they receive plenty of sunshine and cool nighttime temperatures. This allows Bel Colle to produce a superb wine, especially at this price point.
The quality wines of Bel Colle

The Bel Colle winery is located in the Langhe region of Piedmont, between Verduno and La Morra, the ideal area for Barolo production. The vineyards enjoy a beautiful southwesterly exposure and a microclimate favorable to Barolo production, which has a number of unique and very persistent aromas. The company was founded in 1976 by the Pontignone brothers and Mr. Giuseppe Priola. The concept was to produce quality wines that respected local customs. This became a reality when they partnered with oenologist Paolo Torchio, who managed the winery from 1980 to 2015. Since 2015, it has been owned by the Bosio family, who have updated the cellar technology while maintaining tradition.

This D'Alba Ape Reale is made from 100% Barbera grapes. It's a distinctive wine grown on the Langhe hills. Here, the grapes receive plenty of sunshine, but also cool nights. After harvest, a short maceration of the skins takes place, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The young red wine then ages for four to six months in stainless steel tanks and large oak barrels.
The refreshing taste of Barbera D'Alba Ape Reale
