Bellavista Alma Assemblage 1 Extra Brut Franciacorta DOCG
How does a top-quality Franciacorta distinguish itself from other sparkling wines? Bellavista leaves no doubt about it with its Alma Assemblage 1. This Extra Brut is their flagship wine, blended from grapes from 60 different vineyards spread across a mosaic of microclimates around Erbusco. The result is a Franciacorta with tension, finesse, and richness, made according to an unprecedentedly detailed method that prioritizes quality over quantity at every stage.
Vineyards and region
Bellavista's vineyards are among the best-positioned in Franciacorta, with eastern and southwestern exposures and a wide variety of soils. The vines are 27 to 28 years old and form the basis for the expressive style of this cuvée. The density is 5,000 vines per hectare, a deliberate choice for intensity and concentration. To preserve maximum quality, the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. Each grape was picked between August 25 and September 4, 2021, and collected in small 13-kilogram crates. This way, the bunches remain intact until pressing.
Vinification and maturation
The grapes are pressed in three fractions, of which only the first and second juices are used for the blend. Some of the base wine is aged in small French oak barrels, the rest in stainless steel. In 2022, tirage was performed: a process in which the wine is bottled with yeast and sugar for a second fermentation. This is followed by aging on lees for an average of 30 months. Even the turning of the bottles (remuage) is done manually, a detail that underscores Bellavista's dedication.

Tasting notes and serving suggestions
The color is bright golden yellow with a vibrant sheen. The mousse is silky and refined. The aroma combines Mediterranean flowers, citrus zest, and subtle brioche. The palate is lively, precise, and creamy at the same time, with a fresh acidity and a mineral finish that lingers. Serve at 8 to 10°C with refined dishes such as langoustine, lemon risotto, or scallop carpaccio.
