A truly classic wine from Bernhard Ott, this Cuvée Spectrum. This wine combines 11 grape varieties from a single vintage. The grapes are planted in a single plot and vinified together. This allows the grape varieties to enhance each other, and any weaknesses of one grape are balanced by the strengths of another.
The family winery Bernhard Ott
For over 130 years, the Ott family has been producing quality wine from the Austrian Wagram region. At the age of 21, Bernhard Ott was given the confidence of his parents to start making his own wines. And so, in 1993, he took over the winery. He quickly won awards and, year after year, produces exceptionally pure wines that are highly sought after. In recent years, he has invested heavily, completely renovating his wine cellar. Thanks to his innovative adjustments, the company continues to grow year after year, and with it, the quality of the wines. Bernhard Ott now manages nearly 50 hectares of vines, the majority of which are cultivated biodynamically.
The grapes are harvested simultaneously and taken almost immediately to the winery. Here, they are macerated for several days in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation begins, the grapes are pressed, and the must is fermented to completion in large oak barrels. The young wine is then aged on full lees until bottling.
An enchanting Cuvee Spectrum from Bernhard Ott
The result is an enchanting blended wine with aromas of apples, pears, apricots, mango, grapefruit, and lime on the nose. These fruity notes are complemented by hints of hazelnut and delicate spices thanks to the oak. On the palate, it's a juicy wine with fresh acidity and a creamier texture. The fruity notes are also present on the palate, leading to a very long finish.
