A superb, powerful Grüner Veltliner from Bernhard Ott. It has a wonderfully creamy character without losing any elegance. The grapes are sourced from Feuersbrunner vineyards, making it a local wine made from their own vineyards. The soil, like all of Wagram, consists of loess, which produces wonderfully juicy wines.
Quality wines from Bernhard Ott
For over 130 years, the Ott family has been producing quality wine from the Austrian region of Wagram. Since 1993, it has been owned by Bernhard Ott, who owns approximately 30 hectares of vineyards. He focuses entirely on producing the finest Grüner Veltliner grapes, and you often hear him exclaim, "Ich bin ein Veltliner" (I'm a Veltliner). He even calls himself Mister Veltliner. And that's saying something. He has invested heavily in recent years, completely renovating his wine cellar. Thanks to his innovative adjustments, the company continues to grow year after year, and with it, the quality of the wines.
The Gruner Veltliner grapes for this white wine come from young vines. The grapes are selectively harvested and rigorously sorted in the winery. Only the very best are good enough, so the grapes undergo a second selection in the winery. This is followed by natural fermentation in large oak barrels. After several months of rest, the Der Ott Gruner Veltliner is ready for bottling.
Enjoy a powerful, elegant Gruner Veltliner
The aroma is opulent, with distinct yellow fruit notes like melon and pear, but also clear hints of papaya and apricot. This aroma is complemented by aromas of tobacco and spices. On the palate, it's a creamy wine with a powerful body. Fine and elegant, with fruity notes clearly predominating on the palate. The acidity is soft with mineral notes and a pleasant freshness on the finish.
