Bodega Cerrosol is a true family winery, founded 30 years ago in the town of Santiuste de San Juan Bautista in the heart of the Rueda wine region, part of the Spanish wine region of Castilla y León. The winery, owned by the Vegas-Cordobés family, remains family-owned today, and the third generation is now at the helm. Using modern techniques and time-honored traditions, Bodega Cerrosol crafts its white wines, which are renowned throughout Spain.

Nestled in the heart of the best part of the Rueda region, Bodega Cerrosol's old vineyards are filled with the Verdejo grape, the region's most important variety. Here, the climate is perfect, with rich soils rich in gravel, limestone, and pebbles. The perfect continental climate contributes to the development of the bunches that grow on very old vines. These vines don't yield a large harvest, but instead, one of inestimable value. The winemaker behind Bodega Cerrosol's wines is none other than Javier del Río López. And he's a rising star when it comes to vibrant and powerful white wines.

The Verdejo grapes are harvested only at night—yes, you read that right. At night, the bunches retain their freshness and minimize the risk of bruising during transport. This is how the grapes arrive in perfect condition in small crates at Bodega Cerrosol. Here, all bunches undergo a rigorous selection process; only the best are pressed to maintain the high quality of this white wine. And yes, after a short aging period in the cellars, it's ready to drink. Upon opening the bottle, we immediately smell a vibrant aroma of stone fruit, green apple, and hay. In the glass, we see a crystal-clear color with a beautiful green shimmer. Nosing the glass, we encounter a broad bouquet of stone fruit and citrus notes. Later, some green pepper and green asparagus, with a hint of freshly mown grass. On the palate, this Bodega Cerrosol Verdejo Rueda offers a fresh tingle on the tongue, accompanied by plenty of white fruit. On the palate, there are hints of green herbs and a good balance between acidity and ripe fruit. The finish is long and offers notes of mint leaves and hay.
