Bodegas Volcanes is a project launched in 2009 by winemaker Maria del Pilar Diaz, geologist Gonzalo Hendriguez, and terroir manager Agustin Aguerrea. They came up with the idea of ​​creating a series of wines sourced from vineyards with volcanic soils. And Chile is the perfect place for that. They own three vineyards throughout Chile and produce vibrant, rich, and complex wines. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are harvested entirely by hand and then carefully transported to the winery. At the winery, the bunches are first rigorously selected. The grapes are then destemmed and crushed, and the juice is transferred to a stainless steel tank. Here, the juice undergoes an eight-hour cold maceration. After maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. After this, the wine is transferred to another tank and matures on its fine lees. Everything is characterized by harmony and complexity.
