The meeting of tradition and modern style
Bolla's first wine cellar dates back to 1883 and was built in Soave, a medieval town southeast of Verona, by Abele Bolla, owner of the renowned inn "Al Gambero," famous for offering the finest wines from the area. Abele decided to market the Soave wine, so prized by his guests, and transformed his passion for winemaking into a true business: the first Bolla cellar was established in Soave in 1883. The first official recognition came in 1909 when Bolla won the gold medal (which would be followed by many more) for quality wines at the Bologna wine fair.
Bolla's wines are authentic, yet all in the classic Italian style. They are fresh wines with a modern appeal. Bolla's philosophy is linked to tradition and the region where they are grown. The long process from grape to wine relies on a large network of growers who transport their harvest through the streets of Valpolicella.
