This Selezione 21 Extra Dry Millesimato is one of Borgo Imperiale's finest sparkling wines, made from only the finest vintages. The name Borgo Imperiale comes from the villagers where Decordi's adventure began. Decordi owns Selezione 21. In the village of Solarolo Monasterolo, the inhabitants call themselves "Crows," meaning crows. This is because these birds are common in the surrounding meadows, and they were called Imperial Crows. The Decordi family therefore decided to emphasize and preserve the "imperial" character of the line, always remembering the connection with the area of origin and the attachment to the village... to the "Borgo"! That's how Borgo Imperiale was born, a line of top-quality products.
The best prosecco of Selezione 21
With the arrival of Quirico Decordi Junior in 1973, the winery took a major step toward producing the finest proseccos. Significant investment in the vineyards significantly increased the quality, resulting in this top-notch Cuvée de Millesimato. For this prosecco, the grapes are grown on very old vines, and only the finest bunches are harvested. This distinctive quality is determined by this, providing the winemaker with a unique foundation for this Borgo Imperiale Prosecco Millesimato. After a long aging period in the Borgo Imperiale cellars, it is ready to be enjoyed—a true celebration!
The aroma and taste of the Selezione 21 Extra Dry Millesimato
What a fantastic prosecco! Refined, with beautiful soft flavors and a rich bouquet on the nose. That's what this Selezione 21 Extra Dry Millesimato is all about; the grapes are sourced from Colline Trevigiane. The aroma has notes of red apple, lime peel, a hint of baked bread, and an undertone of white blossom. The palate immediately reveals a very soft mousse—that's what we mean by bubbles. These are soft and very refined, and it also has nuances of citrus and white fruit, with ripe apple most prominent. This Selezione 21 Extra Dry Millesimato also has hints of nuts and a touch of lychee.
