Borgo Maragliano El Calie Mosto d'Uva

Borgo Maragliano Winery was founded in 1850 when the Galliano family purchased their first vineyard in Loazzolo. Businessman Giovanni Galliano had traveled extensively throughout the world and made his fortune at a young age. His greatest passion was wine, and he decided to pursue his dream. This proved to be an excellent choice, as today the fifth generation of the family is at the helm of Borgo Maragliano. Significant investment has been made over the years, resulting in a completely renovated winery with all the latest technology. Carlo and Silvia, along with their sons Giovanni, Francesco, and Federico, are currently producing beautiful sparkling wines, something they are all immensely proud of.

The unique grape variety Moscato Bianco di Canelli

The vineyards for this El Calie Mosto d'Uva are located in the ancient and rich Piedmont region. The old vines have deep roots and provide the family with a top harvest of the unique Moscato Bianco di Canelli grape variety. This grape grows in a unique climate where the Ligurian Sea wind plays a significant role. The Moscato grapes enjoy the sun and are exposed to both warm and cool breezes from the sea. This gives the family greater depth to the harvest, and the taste reflects this. Borgo Maragliano has a total of 21 hectares of vineyards, from which they produce a large portion of this white El Calie Mosto d'Uva.

The smell and taste of the Borgo Maragliano El Calie Mosto d'Uva

Only when the harvest is truly ripe are the bunches gathered. This allows the grapes to contain natural sugars, which we'll soon taste in the slightly sweet style of this El Calie Mosto d'Uva. Upon arrival, the bunches are inspected and gently pressed. Pouring reveals a beautiful light yellow color with very fine bubbles. It smells of candied fruit, vanilla, and a touch of honey. The flavor is delightful, softly sweet with delicate fruit nuances. Its low alcohol content of around three percent makes it a very pleasant glass of Mosto d'Uva.
