This red wine is made from the Barbera grape, which made the Braida winery, under the leadership of Giacomo Bologna, famous. It was Giacomo who, using different techniques such as hand selection, temperature-controlled fermentation, and aging in new French oak, created a new Barbera wine in Piedmont. Today, more wineries have adopted these techniques, making the region's wines much more popular. For this reason, Giacomo Bologna is also known as the Barbera King of Piedmont. The Barbera d'Asti grapes come from the vineyards located on the Montebruna hill. This is where the name "Montebruna" (Montebruna) comes from. The hill is near the winery in Rocchetta-Tanaro. The climate is perfect, with plenty of sunshine and cool breezes blowing from the vineyards' peaks. This coolness enhances the harvest, which is evident in the flavor of this Montebruna Barbera d'Asti. Once the grapes are harvested by hand, this red wine is aged for a full 12 months in the Braida wine cellars. Oak barrels of 20, 35, and 55 hectoliters are used for aging to enhance the depth of the wine.
