The bottle alone is a delight for the senses, but now you really need to take a break from this Brunel de la Gardine Cotes de Rhone. You'll discover a red Cotes de Rhone of unprecedented beauty; for us, it was a real surprise. We'd read a lot about the Brunel Family wines, but seeing them this beautiful was a real treat. This red Cotes de Rhone is made from various grape varieties grown on old vines. We immediately noticed this, resulting in a wine with great length and ripe aromas and flavors.

Manual harvest for Brunel de la Gardine Cotes de Rhone Red

Château de la Gardine is a well-known player in the wine world. They have been internationally renowned for years for their terroir-specific Châteauneuf-du-Pape. They carry the Rhône and Hermitage wines under Brunel de la Gardine. This red wine is a blend of 65 percent Grenache and 35 percent Syrah and Mourvedre grapes. All are sourced from vineyards in the southern part of the Rhône Valley, where the Grenache grape constitutes the majority of the grapes grown. After manual harvesting, the grapes are rigorously selected to remove any bad bunches. Fermentation then takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The wine remains in contact with the skins for extended periods to develop more color, flavor, and structure. After fermentation, the wine matures for several months in concrete tanks. The result is stunning!

A round and refined red wine from Brunel

We immediately smelled a lovely initial note of blackcurrant fruit, ripe raspberries, plums, and a touch of spice. The palate is round and very refined, with soft tannins that make it exciting, yet full of red and black fruit! On the back of the tongue, we noted a light spice and hints of plums and lavender. Serve this Cotes de Rhone Rouge with a cheese board or a barbecue. It's a delicious accompaniment!
