The name Crozes Hermitage is a household name worldwide. It's the largest vineyard in the northern appellations, located in the Drôme region, on the left bank of the Rhône River. Bordering the Hermitage vineyard to the north, this Crozes Hermitage shares the same terroir type, making it unique. The Château de la Gardine vineyard was planted in the 1950s under the Brunel family. It has since matured, producing full and ripe bunches. This translates into a masterful wine that will captivate all the senses!

Brunel de la Gardine's centuries-old wine tradition

Château de la Gardine is a well-known player in the wine world. They have been internationally renowned for their terroir-specific Châteauneuf-du-Pape for years. They carry the Rhône and Hermitage wines under Brunel de la Gardine. Their winemaking tradition began in the 17th century when Gaston Brunel acquired Château de la Gardine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in 1945. Today, the estate is run by his two sons, Patrick and Maxime, who work with great passion and dedication in their 52 hectares of vineyards. The Syrah grapes come from various vineyards of AC Crozes Hermitage. After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and crushed. Fermentation then takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Each terroir is vinified separately, and after malolactic fermentation, they are blended together. After blending, the wine is aged for an impressive 12 months in oak barrels.

Enjoy this tasty Crozes Hermitage

In the glass, the Brunel de la Gradine has a beautiful ruby-red color with a purple hue. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of red and black fruit (plums, blackberries, and blueberries), complemented by licorice, leather, and a hint of meatiness. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and powerful, yet supple thanks to the ripe, soft tannins. The aroma lingers on the palate with a peppery finish. This wine pairs well with game and also perfectly with Moroccan lamb with apricot, almond, and mint.
