Burmester Tawny, where do we begin? What a delicious Port this is! The grapes for this port are grown on hills at an altitude of 600 meters. This allows the grapes to experience plenty of sunshine and cool nights. Due to the altitude, all the grapes are harvested by hand at precisely the right time. The grapes are planted in a subsoil with granite. This gives the grapes their unique character.
The Tawny Port of Burmester
This Tawny Port from Burmester is crafted from wines of different vintages, allowing it to maintain consistent quality year after year. Some of these wines have been aged in oak barrels for at least three years, allowing subtle oak notes to permeate the port wine. This results in a delicious red port with a deep golden brown color. The nose offers delightful aromas of ripe fruit and raisins, along with a subtle hint of vanilla. The palate is pleasantly full, smooth, and rich. The beautiful fruity character combined with the soft tannins and pleasant sweetness make this red port a true standout.
