The Italian wines of Ca'Bolani
Nestled in the heart of Friuli, between the sea and the mountains, the Ca'Bolani winery is perfectly situated. Acquired by the Zonin family in the 1970s, the estate covers an impressive 570 hectares and is planted on alluvial, mineral-rich soil. The result is a unique terroir that allows for wines with the perfect balance of fruitiness and mineral notes. Thanks to their proximity to the Adriatic Sea and the Alps, the Ca'Bolani vineyards enjoy perfect temperatures with significant fluctuations between day and night, giving the wines their distinctive character and complexity. Over the past decades, considerable work has been done to match the right plot of land with the right grapes, giving Ca'Bolani wines a unique quality that perfectly reflects the characteristics of the terroir.
The grapes are harvested at peak ripeness and taken to the winery. Here, they are destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place, lasting approximately 8 to 12 days, during which the color, aroma, and flavor are extracted. Malolactic fermentation then follows, after which the wine is aged for several months in oak barrels.
