Currently, the fourth generation is at the helm, and their expertise and experience are unparalleled. Ca' Rugate winery is located north of the village of Soave and owes its beautiful name to the hill behind it, Rugate Hill. The vineyards are unique, rooted in volcanic soil, making the Soave Classico a true beauty.
Completely hand-harvested for this San Michele Soave Classico
The precise location for the white Garganega grapes used to make this San Michele Soave Classico is Monteforte d'Alpone. The soil structure is a treasure trove, packed with volcanic rocks, clay, and basalt. From this soil, the grapes draw incredible strength and purity. They also withstand hot summers thanks to the vines' deep roots. When the harvest is ripe, the grapes are picked before the sun shines on them. This prevents bruising and oxidation during transport. After harvest, the entire wine is aged for several months in the Ca'Rugate wine cellars.
