Varietal(s) Nero d'Avola

A lovely warm red wine made with the local Sicilian grape Nero d'Avola. It's the island's most famous red grape, thanks in large part to the Mediterranean climate. Nero d'Avola thrives in these conditions, producing beautiful, characterful red wines. The grapes are grown entirely organically, and this Luma Nero d'Avola Bio is a characterful wine with plenty of power.

The best quality of Cantine Cellaro

The Cantine Cellaro cooperative is located in western Sicily. Its vineyards are situated at altitudes between 300 and 600 meters near Lake Arancio. They focus entirely on using local grapes, along with their 1,000 members who own a total of approximately 1,700 hectares of vineyards. Grillo is primarily used for white wines, and Nero d'Avola and Nerello Mascalese for reds. They have experimented extensively with these grape varieties to achieve the best aging and vinification, resulting in high-quality wines. The Nero d'Avola grapes are carefully harvested and then lightly dried, reducing their volume by 15-20 percent, which increases the sugar content. This gives the wine more richness, volume, and power. The grapes are harvested from the vineyards at peak ripeness and undergo a long fermentation on the skins, giving the wine strength and color. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barriques to achieve a beautiful finish.

The explosive aromas of Cantine Cellaro Luma Nero d'Avola Bio

The Cantine Cellaro Luma Nero d'Avola Bio shines ruby red in the glass, instantly releasing an explosion of aromas of red fruit, ripe blackberries, chocolate, sweet cherries, and delicious spices. It's a warm and powerful wine, with tannins perfectly balanced by the natural residual sugar. A very pleasant wine that pairs wonderfully with red meat.
