Bodegas Anadas is a well-known winery in Spain, being one of the oldest family-owned estates. It all began in 1932 when the family was seduced by the beautiful landscape of the Cariñena region. Today, the winery is better known by the name "Care Wine," which they have assigned to their wines. The name Care derives from the ancient Roman name Cariñena. The old vineyards are in beautiful condition, with large, thick trunks growing in prime locations, a characteristic that is clearly evident in the aroma and, above all, the taste of the Care wines.
The old vineyard filled with Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc
At an altitude of six hundred meters, the old vineyard for their latest project, this white Care Blanco Sobre Lias, stands. And Care surprises us again, because this unique blend is truly exceptional. We begin on the mountain where both the Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc grow, enjoying a perfect climate. The abundant sunshine on the bunches gives the grapes warmth and strength. But there's also plenty of coolness, thanks to the wind and falling nighttime temperatures. With this perfect balance of warmth and coolness, the bunches develop into true heroes of the Cariñena region. At perfect ripeness, the grapes for this Care Blanco Sobre Lias are harvested by hand and meticulously inspected. Upon arrival, both grape varieties are vinified separately, and then it's up to the winemaker to showcase his skills. He crafts this white wine with immense love and passion, but also with a great deal of artistry. That's why Care wines has chosen to commission an artist to create the label, and for this wine, that artist is Enrique Torrijos.
The scent and taste of the Care Blanco Sobre Lias
Upon opening the bottle, we immediately smell a vibrant aroma of green apple and grapefruit, among other things. Pouring reveals a beautiful pale color with green glints. With our noses touching the glass, this white wine transports us to the most beautiful places in Spain. We smell a powerful aroma of pineapple, citrus, and a touch of tropical fruit. The palate is truly enchanting, with a rich fruity note and a touch of green herbs.
