The 100 percent Garnacha grapes for this red wine come from old vines of approximately 50 years old. The vineyards are situated at high altitudes, resulting in a longer growing season. This gives this Garnacha Nativa greater complexity. Thanks to the high altitude, the grapes also benefit from an excellent climate. The daytime heat is offset by cool nights, a positive effect on this delicious, high-quality wine from Care.
Care wines from Anadas winery
Anadas Winery is located in the heart of the DO Cariñena and was founded in 1935. It is one of the oldest family-owned wineries in the region. They primarily produce wines made with the Garnacha grape, supplemented with white and rosé wines. The range is known as CARE. This project, founded in 2000, takes its name from the ancient Roman name for Cariñena. It is an innovative project focused on high-quality wines produced with the utmost care. Each label features a face, reflecting the sun and the soil of the wine. The work of artist Enrique Torrijos offers a glimpse into the wine's history and contributes to the beautifully presented bottles.
12 months of wood aging for Care Carinena Garnacha Nativa
The entire vinification process is meticulously executed. The winemakers are involved throughout, ensuring adjustments are always possible. After careful harvesting, the wine undergoes a six-day cold maceration on the skins. Alcoholic fermentation then takes place at a constant temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. After this, the juice remains in contact with the skins for 15 days to develop its beautiful color. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine matures for a further 12 months in American oak barrels. The result is a feast for the eyes. This Garnache Native sparkles in the glass, releasing the delightful aroma of ripe red berries and dark spices. On the palate, fresh red plum and raspberry fruit dominate, complemented by hints of mocha.
