Bodegas Añadas is located in the heart of the Cariñena, a historic area in the Spanish region of Aragon. It is one of the oldest family-owned estates in Spain, dating back to 1932. That year, the family purchased a piece of land with the goal of producing the finest and most affordable wines from the Cariñena region. The name Care derives from the Romans, who used to call Cariñena Care. Over the years, significant investments have been made, and today it is a state-of-the-art company. But without losing its ancient traditions, because, according to Care, winemaking is an art in itself. To emphasize this, artist Enrique Torrijos has created a unique label for each wine. On the label, you can sense certain feelings and flavors of the wine. So fun and artistic.
The old Chardonnay vineyard of Care
The vineyard for this white Chardonnay from Care winery is located in the Finca Bancales wine region. The old Chardonnay vineyard stands at an altitude of six hundred meters. The grapes thrive, thanks in part to the climate at this altitude. The grapes enjoy ample sunshine, allowing them to ripen easily. The breeze and cool nighttime temperatures help refresh the bunches, resulting in a top-class Chardonnay. Once the grapes are ripe, they are harvested early in the morning. Care does this to prevent damage to the bunches and oxidation. The yield for this white Chardonnay wine is modest, as the vineyard covers only four hectares.
Full and very powerful this Care Chardonnay
Not only is the bottle with its artistic label striking, but so is the quality of the wine, as Care is known for its pure wines. This full-bodied Chardonnay from Care is also one of their top wines! The aroma offers beautiful hints of tropical fruit, white flowers, hay, and a touch of spice. The palate is full and complex, with refined acidity that prevents it from becoming too thick. The ripe Chardonnay grapes lend hints of green apple, pineapple, and tropical fruit on the finish.
