Vibrant and fresh with all the beauty of Sauvignon Blanc. We believe this Carmen Insigne Sauvignon Blanc is one of Carmen's finest wines. It's pure, fresh, and incredibly elegant.

The success of Carmen winery

Carmen Winery is named after the wife of Christian Lanz, who founded the winery in 1850. Today, it is the oldest of the bodegas still active in Chilean viticulture. They utilize state-of-the-art facilities. But that alone is the foundation of Carmen's success. The professional team of oenologists, led by Maria del Pilar González, also plays a key role in the creation of the quality wines. All grapes come from their own vineyards, prioritizing quality over quantity. To achieve this, Carmen Vineyards has restricted yields. This results in wines that are more powerful and full-bodied than many Chilean wines. Moreover, the wines truly taste like the grapes from which they are made; they are uniquely authentic. Anyone who tastes them is immediately impressed by the vast potential of this promising wine country.

The vinification of the Carmen Insigne Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc has been gradually refined over the years. Grapes from various origins are used for this Insigne Sauvignon Blanc, creating an ideal blend of grapes grown in cooler and cooler vineyards. This white wine therefore showcases the riper aspects of the Sauvignon grape, making it beautifully soft and full-bodied. The grapes are hand-picked and then immediately cooled and pressed. This allows Carmen to preserve all the fruit. Fermentation at a very low temperature gives the wine a rich aroma and makes it powerful. Fermentation then takes place longer, allowing the aromas to fully develop. A short, two-month maturation on the lees (dead yeast cells) adds even more aromatic power and depth. This results in a flavorful glass of Sauvignon, with ripe and light green notes subtly intertwined.

The aroma and taste of the Carmen Insigne Sauvignon Blanc

On the nose, this Carmen Insigne Sauvignon Blanc has aromas of green pepper, gooseberries, and artichokes, refreshingly invigorating. Delicious, but the taste is also stunning. A beautifully ripe and powerful flavor of green apple, citrus peel, gooseberries, and mown grass. The finish is superb and very thirst-quenching with a refreshing acidity that's very enjoyable.
