What a beautiful glass of Roero Arneis! The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and then aged for six months "sur lie," giving it its full, ripe aroma and flavor. With this Roero Arneis, the Chercina brothers clearly demonstrate their winemaking skills.

The dream of the Ghercina brothers

Cascina Ghercina was born from the dream of brothers Paola and Guid Sartirano. They wanted to produce wines for wine lovers passionate about Piedmontese wines and constantly seeking quality and tradition. Respect for the territory, a constant commitment to excellence, genuine passion: these are the values inherited from the four generations of producers from which Cascina Ghercina derives, and which are combined daily with the technologies that modernity offers.

The harvest of the Roero Arneis

Initially, Arneis grapes were used to produce sweet wines, but since the 1960s, they have also been used to make elegant, dry, and soft wines with fruity and floral aromas. This wine has been a resounding success! The grapes are rigorously selected after harvest. They are then macerated on the skins for six hours. The grapes are gently pressed and then fermented under controlled temperatures. This is followed by six months of aging "sur lie" (on the lees).

A full and creamy white wine with character from Ghercina

And finally, we're treated to a delicious glass of Roero Arneis. This Cascina Ghercina Roero Arneis has aromas of abundant ripe fruit and flowers, along with hints of chamomile and apricot. The palate is full and creamy with a very soft character, beautiful flavors of peaches, apricots, mango, and hints of lime and chamomile. The finish is excellent in length and with a firm finish. This wine is excellent as an aperitif, accompanied by raw fish or a starter with olives, vegetables, or hummus. It can actually be enjoyed throughout the dinner, but pairs best with fish dishes.
