The Moscato Rosa vine is a very old vine that found its way from Sicily to Trentino in the mid-nineteenth century. It's a very delicate grape for sharing, as it can withstand a lot of wear and tear and is prone to various problems during flowering and ripening. It produces a deliciously sweet, pleasant wine with floral aromas.
Elegant wines from Castel Firmian
In 1904, the MezzaCorona wine cooperative was founded. It was the very first in Italy, and today, the name stands for a group of wineries spread throughout Italy. For over a hundred years, this winery has delighted millions of wine drinkers worldwide with their Italian varietal wines. But recently, the company has shifted its focus from quantity to quality. The Castel Firmian grape varietal line is a particularly successful expression of this development. It is named after a castle perched high above the Piana Rotaliana vineyards. The wines made from select grapes are characterized by great elegance, distinctive aromas, and impressive harmony.
The Moscato grapes are grown on a small vineyard at an altitude of approximately 250 to 300 meters. The vines are deeply rooted in clayey limestone soils, resulting in perfectly ripe grapes with abundant aromas. The grapes are harvested using the hanging method after natural drying on the vine. In the winery, the grapes are then destemmed and undergo traditional vinification with select yeasts. The wine is aged for several months in stainless steel to enhance the aromas of this elegant wine.
