With the Castel Firmian Moscato Giallo, the cooperative winemakers of Mezzacorona offer a delightfully accessible taste experience from South Tyrol. This white wine boasts an intense bouquet of tropical aromas and sun-ripened fruit. Italian Moscato is sweet and highly aromatic on the palate. This rich, straw-yellow wine from the lower Trentino region, not far from Lake Garda, is made partly from yellow Muscat grapes that have been naturally dried on the vine. It pairs perfectly with typical desserts from the region, such as apple strudel or fruit bread, as well as dried fruit and pastries.

Largest Italian wine producer

Mezzacorona, founded in 1904, is one of the very first cooperatives in Italy. The name Mezzacorona refers to a group of wineries spanning the far north to the deep south of Italy. This wine producer controls approximately 2,400 hectares of vineyards in Trentino and neighboring Alto Adige. Trentino is located in northern Italy between Verona and the Alps, where viticulture is concentrated in the Adige Valley. The region is primarily known for the immensely popular Pinot Grigio. They focus on sustainability, avoiding pesticides, manual work in the vineyards and during harvest, and preserving the natural habitats of flora and fauna around and in the vineyards.

Traditional vinification for Castel Firmian Moscato Giallo

Some of the Moscato Giallo grapes are left to ripen naturally on the vine. After harvest, traditional vinification follows, with cold maceration on the skins and fermentation at a controlled temperature (16-18 degrees Celsius). Fermentation is interrupted by cooling the must to achieve the desired natural sugar content. After the necessary rest, the wine is bottled and marketed. An aromatic sweet wine from Northern Italy. It has an intense straw-yellow color. And then there's that expressive aroma: sultry tropical fruit, peach, and honeydew melon. A serious, elegant Muscat wine. Not too sweet and with a delicate freshness.
