This Castel Firmian Pinot Grigio comes from the renowned winery and is a true quality wine. It's perfectly balanced, alternating freshness with a delicate acidity. Mezzacorona's range is quite diverse, and as such, we also find some special regional red specialties like Lagrein and Teroldego Rotaliano.
The ideal conditions for Mezzacorona wines
Mezzacorona, the winery of passionate Trentino winemakers located near the Dolomites, is a true masterpiece of winemaking. The unique locations, the cooling mountain breeze, the optimal temperatures, and the resulting microclimate, combined with the mountainous terroir, create the ideal conditions for creating excellent wines. White wines, red wines, Gewürztraminer, and many indigenous varieties flourish in the well-maintained vineyards of the cooperative members. They focus on sustainability, avoiding pesticides, manual work in the vineyards and during harvest, and the preservation of the natural habitats of flora and fauna around and in the vineyards. At Mezzacorona, every wine is born from a harmonious fusion of craftsmanship, respect for nature, and love of the land. This is evident in the Castel Firmian Pinot Grigio.
Manual harvest for Castel Firmian Pinot Grigio
The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by traditional vinification. The skins briefly come into contact with the cold to enhance the wine's structure and richness. This is followed by a temperature-controlled fermentation at approximately 10 to 20 degrees Celsius. The result is this sparkling Castel Firmian Pinot Grigio. It has a delightfully fruity bouquet with hints of chamomile and fine acidity. On the palate, this straw-yellow white wine from South Tyrol is elegant and balanced, with a beautiful intensity of aromas. The vines for this wine, from the Mezzacorona cooperative winemakers, grow along the Adige River in Trentino. Castel Firmian Pinot Grigio is ideal as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with antipasti, white meat, and fish dishes.
