This beautiful red wine hails from northern Italy, from the Trentino-Alto Adige region to be precise. It's a superb product of the Mezzacorona cooperative. This Teroldego Rotaliano is beautifully juicy, full-bodied, and has a pleasant spiciness.
The ideal conditions for Mezzacorona wines
Mezzacorona, the Italian winery of Trentino winemakers near the Dolomites, is a jewel in the crown of winemaking. The locations, the mountain breeze, the optimal temperatures, the resulting microclimate, the low humidity, and the mountainous terroir provide the best conditions for the finest wines. White wines, red wines, Gewürztraminer, and many indigenous varieties flourish in the cooperative members' well-maintained vineyards. They focus on sustainability, avoiding pesticides, manual work in the vineyards and during harvest, and the preservation of the natural habitats of flora and fauna around and in the vineyards.
Trentino is one of the world's finest wine regions. Nestled at the foot of the Dolomites, our grapes benefit from the alpine climate that creates the balanced bouquet and aromatic intensity of Castel Firmian wines. With their balanced bouquet and aromatic intensity, they are a true expression of Trentino's history and winemaking tradition, where genuine fruit is transformed into exceptional wines.
24 months of maturation for Castel Firmian Teroldego Rotaliano
The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, followed by traditional vinification. The wine is aged for 24 months, 12 of which are in oak barrels. The indigenous South Tyrolean grape variety, Teroldego, offers a unique taste experience: the Castel Firmian Teroldego Rotaliano offers a versatile bouquet dominated by notes of forest fruits. This Italian red wine, aged in oak barrels, is well-structured on the palate, with pleasant tannins. This ruby-red wine with violet highlights is an excellent choice with hearty dishes such as roast or grilled meats and aged cheeses.
