Vintage Report
2020 was an excellent vintage for Tuscany, rated 93 points by Robert Parker. Conditions were very good, resulting in wines with a beautiful balance and aging potential.
A wine perfectly balanced between Old and New World styles. This wine comes from estate vineyards where Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon thrive.
The ideal soils for Alleanza
With its rocky, marl-rich limestone and clay soils and temperate climate, these vines thrive in the unique terroir of the Chianti Classico region, producing grapes that give the wine its rich, dark fruit characteristics. With a heritage dating back to 1480, Cavaliere d'Oro invites you on a journey into the world of Italian wine. Located in the heart of Tuscany, Italy's Chianti region is iconic for its bold and robust Chianti and Chianti Classico wines. Cavaliere d'Oro draws on the treasures of the Chianti region, including Chianti, Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, and the single-vineyard Chianti Classico Bellezza. These exceptional Chiantis are born in Castello di Gabbiano, the heart of Cavaliere d'Oro's heritage. During the Middle Ages, a courageous Italian knight, Il Cavaliere, dedicated himself to protecting the castle and its vineyards. His code of honor embodied Gabbiano's philosophy that the best things in life deserve the greatest dedication—the estate's vineyards, Old World traditions, and the enjoyment of robust wines. This Alleanza is aged entirely in French oak, 80% of which is new. This period lasts 18 to 24 months, a very long time that gives it its distinctive flavors! After aging in oak, this wine is aged for a further bottle in the Gabbiano cellar for at least six months. The aromas and flavours of Gabbiano Alleanza
Bright red and purple hues introduce the well-ripened fruit notes of the 2010 Alleanza, accompanied by spicy aromas of clove, black pepper, cinnamon, and allspice. Core aromas of dark cherry, red raspberry, and pomegranate are surrounded by subtle notes of dried tobacco, lavender, and sage. Well-integrated oak and sweet, soft tannins give the wine a long, satisfying finish. The second Alleanza to be made exclusively with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this is an internationally styled, impeccably balanced, and full-bodied Tuscan red wine.Product details
