Cave de Tain Premiere Note Viognier
Looking for an expressive white wine with ripe stone fruit, blossom, and a soft, round texture? Première Note Viognier delivers that recognizable Viognier profile in a fresh, accessible style that immediately leaves you wanting more. This is a true standout in its price range.
Vineyards and region
Cave de Tain works with carefully selected fruit from the Rhône Valley. The warm, sunny climate fosters ripe aromas, while cool nights keep the acidity vibrant. This results in a Viognier that is inviting on the nose yet remains clear and precise on the palate. Because this wine is sourced from a specific plot, it is only released in limited quantities. Despite high demand, Cave de Tain is currently unable to produce more. So don't wait too long if you want to taste this delicious Viognier.
Vinification and maturation
The focus is on aromatic purity. Cool fermentation keeps the floral aromas and ripe fruit at the forefront. What does aging on fine lees mean and why do you taste more creaminess? By allowing the young wine to rest on the fine yeast cells for a period, it gains extra texture and roundness without overpowering the fruit.
Grape composition
Viognier, one hundred percent. Viognier is known for peach, apricot, orange blossom, and a soft palate, often with lower acidity than, for example, Sauvignon Blanc, making the wine feel fuller and rounder.
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
The nose reveals peach, apricot, and white blossom with a hint of citrus. The palate is round and juicy, with ripe white fruit, a mild spiciness, and a fresh finish that balances everything out. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees Celsius with Asian salads with citrus and ginger, creamy fish dishes, chicken with lemon and thyme, or soft, creamy cheeses.
